About the contest
Illustrate the world of plant protection
To celebrate the 75th anniversary of the European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EPPO), participants are invited to submit photos illustrating the diversity, importance, and impact of plant protection across the EPPO region.
The contest is open to anyone involved in, or interested in, EPPO's work. Winning photos will be decided by an EPPO Panel based on relevance, visual quality and creativity. 12 winning photos will then be selected for inclusion in the EPPO 2027 Calendar.
Winners will receive a complimentary copy of the EPPO 2027 Calendar and a high-quality printed version of their winning photograph.

Conditions
How to take part
- Participants must be over 18 years old.
- Each participant can submit up to 3 photos, accompanied by a short title and the photographer's name, no later than September 7, 2026.
- Participants must own the photos and cannot submit photos owned by others.
- AI-generated images are not accepted.
- Photos must be submitted in jpeg format and of high quality (e.g. 300 dpi, 3000 pixels, file size no greater than 20 MB).
- Submissions should not contain trademarks or brands.
- The participant must agree to the terms and conditions of the contest.
Terms & Conditions
Rights transfer
By submitting photos to the contest, participants agree to transfer to EPPO all rights, title, and interest in the submitted images, including the right to reproduce, publish, distribute, modify, adapt, and use the photos in any media and for any purpose related to EPPO's activities, without time or geographical limitation and without additional compensation beyond the contest prize.
Participants warrant that they are the sole authors of the submitted photos and that the images do not infringe the rights of any third party. Participants also confirm that they have obtained any necessary permissions from identifiable individuals appearing in the photos.
By entering the contest, participants grant EPPO a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to reproduce, publish, and use the submitted photos for EPPO communication and promotional purposes, including the 2027 Calendar, website, social media channels, publications, and presentations, with appropriate credit to the photographer whenever reasonably possible.
